What are the odds???

The other day Brynlie informed me that she was playing with spiders! I quickly ran over to her and peeked into the container of crayons that she was playing with. Luckily she was referring to her plastic spider rings I had given her the day before. As I turned away I thought to myself "I only gave Brynlie yellow and purple spider rings....not black ones???" I ran back over to her and again looked into the container.
.
To my horror there was an actual living black spider in there with the rest of her crayons and plastic spiders!!! I totally freaked out, which completely confused Brynlie. She insisted on playing with the fake spiders and didn't understand that one of them was real! She was pretty upset, so I gathered up every ounce of courage I had in me and had her get in close to take a look for herself. She thought it was pretty cool, but I could feel spiders crawling all over me and in my hair for the rest of the day. I felt like they were everywhere. (I'm a total freak I know. There must be someone else out there with my same weird quirks.) So I ended up doing what any good Mom would have done in this situation.
.
I took a picture, and then put a plate over the can of crayons so that Daddy could take care of it when he got home.

  1. Welcome to MY life. I used to have to leave the house if I saw a spider, and it would reduce me to tears. After four months of Iowa and a two year old boy... I'm improving. GROSS. I hate everything about spiders!

  2. I don't have an issue with bugs or insects. What I do hate are rodents!!! I would rather live amongst spiders or cokroaches any day than a nasty rat or mouse. Oh.. I am starting to feel grossed out right now just thinking about those blasted creatures.

  5. your not the only one....i do the exact same thing when it comes to spiders. Even just looking at the picture made me start itching everywhere. I read it before I went to bed, so when I got in bed I was itching everywhere and then i get paranoid that they are going to crawl into my ears, so then I had to cover my ears with my blanket. UGh!!! I hate spiders!
