Kelson's crazy kidney

Kelson had his yearly appointment at Dorenbekers last week. He's had too many traumatic experiences and hates going to the doctors now, so I tried to prep him the week before we left.

He was not ok with this.

So the morning of his appointments he started crying and yelling that he wanted to go home. We knew it was going to be a super day.

Poor kid cried the entire way to the hospital. They have to do ultra sounds first thing and that was the worst part. We had to eventually pin him down, which is the most horrible thing in the world! Seeing your baby cry and stare at you as you pin them down is something no parent can ever get used to. Jeremy will need therapy I'm sure.
Luckily Kelson realized after awhile that he wasn't getting poked or hurt, so he relaxed.

Then they took him into a room of toys and movies and he was much happier. He got to play for awhile before the gave him the happy juice that we both love so much.
He insisted on wearing his hat the whole time. As always.

They did the same VCUG that they've done before and Kelson sat there happy and drunk as could be. This miracle loopy drug they give out is some seriously fun stuff. We just laugh the whole time cause K is so out of it. He says the funniest things.

When they did the ultrasound they couldn't even find his bad kidney, which is good. What used to be huge and full of cysts, is now super tiny and is basically just one little cyst. The diverticulum on his bladder is the same as always but it isn't doing anything bad, so they're not really worried about it now.

We only have one more appointment and if everything looks good we never have to take him back again! Ya-stinkin-whoo! Unless he has kidney stones or bladder infections, this boy is good to go...as long as we avoid certain things like never owning a trampoline, horse, 4-wheeler or dirt bike. Apparently small bounces or jumping isn't good if you only have one kidney. So one day when hes a teenager and wants a 2 wheeled death trap, I will have a great excuse awaiting him.
